Recuerdo de viaje ("we", "us", "our", or "the App") is a paper-goods application. You photograph a shopfront, a street, or a single object, we check whether that photo can become a piece of paper, and you keep the finished stamp, magnet, polaroid, or postcard on this device and pin it to a local board. This Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal data when you use Recuerdo de viaje.

2Accounts and Login

Recuerdo de viaje supports a device account and an optional email seat. We do not offer Google, Apple, Facebook, or any other third-party account login. We do not collect a username or password.

Device Account

  • A device account is created automatically when you first open the App.
  • We store a device identifier on this device so we can create and restore that account.
  • A device account does not require an email address.

Email Account (optional)

  • You may sign in with email, or bind an email to the current device account, to protect progress.
  • We collect only the email address you enter and send a one-time verification code to that address.
  • After verification, that email is linked to your account. We do not use the email for marketing unless you separately ask us to.

Switching and deletion

  • Diamonds, purchases, and membership stay with the account that earned them. Switching between a device account and an email account does not merge data.
  • You may delete your account in the App. Deletion removes the server profile and the paper pieces and board pins saved on this device, then starts a new device account.

3Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

A. Information you provide directly

  • Email address, only if you use email sign-in or bind an email (see Section 2)
  • Photos you take or choose from the photo library so we can tell whether they show a shopfront, a street, or a single object, and so we can print a paper piece
  • The country name you confirm or type for a stamp, if you choose to add one
  • The format and finish you select (stamp, magnet, polaroid, or postcard, and the paper style)
  • Feedback, support requests, and correspondence with us
  • Purchase or subscription information related to App Store diamond packs or membership (processed by Apple; we do not receive your full payment card number)

B. Automatically collected information

  • Device information used to create a device account (device model, operating system, a unique device identifier generated for this App)
  • Log data (IP address, access times, feature usage, crash logs, performance data)
  • Approximate location derived from IP address, used only as a network signal
  • Usage data related to printing, wallet activity, and in-app actions
  • Local storage on this device (see Section 11)

C. Paper-making data

  • The photo you submit for subject recognition and paper printing
  • Recognition results we return for that request, such as a short subject name and a suggested country code
  • Generation metadata (timestamps, processing status, selected format, selected finish, and similar request parameters)

We do not read GPS, and we do not turn the App into a location or check-in product. A country name on a piece is a label you confirm. It may be suggested from the photo, typed by you, or left empty. It is not your device location.

We do not intentionally collect special categories of sensitive personal data (for example health data, biometric templates, racial or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, political opinions, or precise geolocation) unless you voluntarily include such information in a photo. Please do not upload sensitive personal data. Close-up faces, menus, tickets, screenshots, and unrelated piles of objects are not the kind of photo this App is built to print.

4How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Creating and maintaining a device account or an optional email account
  • Providing and operating the App, including subject checks, country suggestions, style previews, and printing stamps, magnets, polaroids, and postcards
  • Sending the one-time email verification code if you use email login or bind
  • Keeping diamonds and membership with your account so a purchase can be delivered
  • Showing store items only when they are listed
  • Account management, customer support, and responding to your requests
  • Security, fraud prevention, abuse detection, and compliance with law
  • Analytics and product improvement (in aggregated or de-identified form where possible)
  • Sending service-related communications (for example updates and security notices)
  • Complying with legal obligations

AI processing (first-party)

When you make a piece, we send the photo you selected and the parameters needed for that request to our own first-party servers. Our own systems check the subject and print the paper piece. We do not send your photos or account data to a third-party AI service (for example, we do not send this data to OpenAI, Google Gemini, or similar external AI providers).

We do not use your photos to train public or general-purpose AI models, and we do not use them for advertising. The album and the boards stay on this device. We do not publish a public wall or a social feed of your pieces.

Legal bases under GDPR (EU/EEA/UK users)

  • Performance of a contract (providing the service you requested, including login and printing)
  • Legitimate interests (improving the service, security, analytics — balanced against your rights)
  • Consent (where required, for example access to the camera or photo library, or an optional email bind)
  • Legal obligation

5Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your photos or account data with a third-party AI service.

We may share data only in the following cases:

  • Infrastructure processors: Cloud hosting, content delivery, email delivery for verification codes, and security providers, under data processing agreements and only to operate Recuerdo de viaje. These processors are not used as a third-party AI service.
  • Apple: In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. Apple's privacy policy applies to that payment data.
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Recuerdo de viaje, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (the recipient will be bound by this Policy or equivalent protections).
  • With your consent: Any other sharing with your explicit consent.

We require all processors to implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures and to provide the same or equal protection described in this Policy.

6International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States and other jurisdictions where our infrastructure processors operate.

For transfers from the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, or Switzerland, we rely on:

  • European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)
  • Adequacy decisions where available
  • Other lawful transfer mechanisms

For other regions, we implement appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable local law.

7Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including:

  • Providing the service
  • Legal, accounting, or reporting obligations
  • Resolving disputes and enforcing agreements

Photos used for recognition and printing may be retained on our servers only as needed to complete the request and operate the service.

Finished pieces, album items, and board pins stored on this device remain until you delete them, delete your account, or uninstall the App. A home-screen pin reads the piece already saved on this device. Account data, including diamonds and membership, is typically retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter (or until you request deletion). After the retention period, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymized.

8Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. These include encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security assessments.

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You use the App at your own risk regarding residual security risks.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

10Children's Privacy

Recuerdo de viaje is not directed to children under 16 years of age (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction, for example 13 under COPPA in the US). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without appropriate parental consent, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

11Local Storage and Similar Technologies

This is a native app. Finished paper, the album, and the boards (fridge, chalkboard, whiteboard, and notebook) are kept on this device. We and our infrastructure processors may use local storage and similar technologies for essential functionality, remembering your device account, analytics, and security. You can clear local data by deleting the App. Doing so may sign you out of the device account on that installation and remove the pieces saved there.

12Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by a new "Last Updated" date. Material changes will be notified through the App or by email where appropriate. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
